We LOVE getting to know indie authors and supporting their literary journey! That’s one of the reasons the Burning Pages brand was born. To share new, underserved, and talented authors who feed our romantasy obsession and get their voice heard in the romantasy community. We are all avid readers and love nothing more than pairing the perfect title with every reader that steps into our intimate bookstore.
Jessica TobinOwner & Brand Manager
Jessica is still waiting for her Hogwarts acceptance letter and will sell her soul for the chance to be a dagger-throwing FMC in a why-choose fantasy world.
She’s most likely recommending SJM, Geneva Lee, Jaclyn Rodriguez, Lauren Palphreyman, Sable Sorensen, or local indie authors. She’s usually running around doing 17 things at once, managing events, yapping with customers, and ranting on the Instagram stories. Jessica is a solo mama with a 9-year old son who you might see behind the checkout counter on occasion.
Jess Edmonds
Assistant Brand Manager & Bookseller
Jessica T’s right-hand gal from day one. Jess can yap about anything romantasy, monster smut, and book cons…she’s most likely recommending Clare Sager, Emma Hamm, or SJM.
Jess is slinging recs and new release IG stories at the bookstore, and works behind the scenes on title scouting, trend forecasting, and is our resident arc reader!
Deb Tobin[aka “Bookstore Mom”]
Store Manager & Bookseller
Debs keeps us all in line and runs sh*t on the backend with inventory and scheduling. You’ll most likely catch her saying, “this is my daughter’s store”, with tears in her eyes, or saying “hold on, let me text the girls to ask them for a rec” when customers ask for one. She also somehow sells more books in the store than any of us, which is crazy because she’s only read 3 that we carry. We love Deb and would be lost without her!
Tess Johnson
Event Squad
Tess is that book girlie who can talk about anything at any given moment…book bf’s, Taylor Swift songs, upcoming concerts in Wilmington, and Twilight. She’s most likely recommending Karina Halle, K.D. Miller, and anything dark and smutty.
Tess is keeping up with our book club BOTM reads and helps make our events a raging success!
Bookseller & The Ember Circle Community Manager
Brienne La FlairBrienne is an avid fantasy reader and SJM-enthusiast. She lights up our dark and moody dungeon and will talk books all day long!
Brienne is slinging books in the bookstore and keeping our private Discord channel and book club running smoothly.
